MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WKYT) – A lot of Kentucky fans in Memphis were excited when the Cats beat UCLA Friday night, not only because it meant Kentucky’s season was continuing but it gave them an excuse to spend a long weekend in Memphis.
Kentucky fans might not have the blues, but they enjoyed listening to the blues Saturday night in Memphis.
“Blues music, barbecued food, it don’t get much better than this.”
Jordan Veach from Russell Springs Kentucky hopes the Cats have just as much rhythm Sunday.
“Definitely the night to relax, taking in Beale Street, enjoying the music, the food, the atmosphere,” Veach said.
They say Blue gets in…and Blue is certainly everywhere here in downtown Memphis.
Michael and Margetta McFarland decided to try some food at BB King’s Blues Club.
“Heard a lot about BB King’s, so we got reservations for upstairs. We’re going to listen to some live music, have a good time and see what happens,” Michael McFarland said.
“We’re just out having a good night in Memphis on Beale Street. Going watch some games, listen to some blues in between games. We’re looking to try and calm our nerves before tomorrow,” Margetta McFarland said.
As the fun before the big game continues to hit a high note.
And since Kentucky and North Carolina don’t tip off until Sunday evening a lot of those Kentucky fans can stay out a little later and have some fun in Memphis
